AI, the new kid on the creativity bloc.

Artificial Intelligence: a disruptor in creativity

Today, I had an inspiring conversation with colleague of mine on his experience with working with fashion students on a project where students have been asked to explore the metaverse and create an immersive environment on the themes of futuristic South Korea and Africa. I was stunned by the imagery that my colleague produced for a presentation of his lesson plan. Striking, unlike anything seen before, dreamlike, eerie, full of magic and wonder.

These had been generated by an AI.

This technology is less than a year old and is taking the world in a storm. It is disruptive, both fascinating and frightening, bringing many questions to mind; what does it know, what has it learnt from us, what has been fed, what is its future like, will it ever become sentient, of so, have we been good to it?

I decided to try this AI and see what results I would get generating ideas for this project.

I used Stable Diffusion, and online open AI to test a few prompts.

There is a lot to learn in working out the prompts and something I will need to keep working out, as errors were returned when using certain words, or maybe it was the order, I am not sure yet.

Starting for my Chrysalis idea, i tried to stay on the idea of shell, fashion, future.
